Dr Lydia Maodi is a specialist psychiatrist, full time in private practice based in Pretoria and Brits.
She qualified for her MBCHB at Medunsa then specialized with psychiatry. She worked at Dr George Mukhari and Weskoppies Hospital during her training where she successfully treated patients suffering from a variety of
psychiatric and psychological conditions.
On completion of her psychiatric training, Dr Maodi obtained her Masters in medicine psychiatry MMED ( Psych).
She is also a fellow at the College of Psychiatrists South Africa. She graduated for her national psychiatry specialist degree fellowship in psychiatry(FC Psych SA).
Her research in masters looked at the management of HIV - Mental Illness cormobidity.
The research was presented at the 5th annual Joint psychology/psychiatry international congress at University of GHANA in October of 2015 and at the
South African Society of Psychiatrists’s Biological Psychiatry congress held in Cape Town in September of the same year. She further presented the research at
the Kenyean Psychiatric Association Congress in March 2017, in Mombasa, Kenya.
She published a book titled:
"An Analysis of the Management of HIV -Mental Illness

    Dr Maodi is a member of the
South African Addiction Medicine Society(SAAMS)   and she does rehabilitation work at clearview alcohol
and drug rehabilitation clinic.
She strives towards providing holistic mental health care, and has first-hand experience in managing psychiatric patients.
